Annual report and activity report

The annual report presents an organisation’s activity, results and outlook over a year. The activity report is its shorter version, focused on actions and highlights. Both documents address wide audiences and must stay readable for non-specialists.

A report built around one message

What should the reader remember after five minutes?

Every report starts from a simple question. The answer sets the title, the opening and the order of the chapters. The rest of the document provides the evidence.

Continuity, year after year

Several clients have entrusted their report to the agency for many editions. This is the case for Fondation Macif, CASDEN and Aréas Assurances. This continuity lets the document evolve without starting from scratch.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between an annual report and an activity report?

The annual report covers activity, financial results and governance. The activity report concentrates on the year’s actions and highlights. It does not always include a financial section.

How long does it take to produce an annual report?

Allow three to four months from scoping to publication. The schedule depends mostly on when the accounts are approved and on the number of contributors.

How many pages should an annual report have?

In the corpus studied by the agency, the median narrative report went from 47 pages in 2004–2009 to 36.5 pages in 2022–2024. The right length remains the one that serves the message.
